One Day, Their little voices *will* change…

FAMILY Photo SESSIONS & Films

BUT THAT DOESN’T MEAN YOU HAVE TO FORGET WHAT THEY SOUND LIKE

One day, you will look back.

About Family PHOTOGRAPHY SESSIONS

SHENANIGANS ARE WELCOME HERE

Your kids can and should be themselves

Look, kids are weird. I mean, I adore them for the little scientists that they are, but hang around long enough and they’re bound to do some weird stuff. And capturing the burgeoning personalities in your family gives me so much joy and life and, in turn, I hope that it becomes a record of your beautiful family that you will hold onto forever.

I promise that you’ll get photos that you love (and video too, if you so choose for your Day-In-The-Life session). I’ll capture their personalities and show the quiet connections that happen between family members when no one is looking.

I offer shorter lifestyle sessions and longer documentary sessions for my family clients – these are just two different approaches to telling your family stories, and I truly love both approaches. Sometimes, families find that the shorter sessions work really well for their schedules and their kids’ temperaments, and they prefer to have help with posing during the session. Others prefer the longer sessions and I find that these can actually be easier for younger children, because there is no dressing up and cheesing at the camera, and kids can be more relaxed (pro tip: my lifestyle sessions are pretty darn relaxed and kids usually have fun at these too!). The real kicker is to decide what “look” you prefer your family? Lifestyle = genuine and relaxed, but a bit more curated. Documentary = real life with all that entails.

THIS IS WHAT FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY (AND VIDEO!) IS ALL ABOUT.

FAMILY LIFESTYLE SESSIONS

POSED, PROMPTED, AND DIRECTED

My Lifestyle Sessions are shorter sessions at a nearby location – a park, open space, or an urban location. These sessions are a lot of fun, and aim to put everyone at ease so that we create truly genuine and relaxed portraits of your family. The last portion of your session will be more free-form and I take a photojournalistic approach to document your family while you play and interact together allowing me to capture your relationships.

FAMILY DOCUMENTARY SESSIONS

PHOTOJOURNALISM OF YOUR DAILY LIFE

My Day-in-the-Life Sessions are longer sessions and will be sure to capture the weird and wild that makes up your family personalities, as I become your friend with a camera. They’ll show your son learning to play piano, or your daughter building her lego set. Or that face your kid makes after their sister makes a silly noise (okay, when their sister farts, because farts are always funny and you know that’s why they’re laughing).

Why book a FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY session?

Moms: Let’s have a come-to-jesus moment

No one deserves to be in the picture more than you.

I know you haven’t heard this enough, but you are beautiful just the way you are. You are enough.

At the end of the day, your kids want you to be in those pictures and those videos with them. They think you are beautiful. And, truly, when we let our love shine through, we are all beautiful.

So, put those yoga pants on or your favorite pair of jeans and stop worrying that the house is messy or you haven’t actually combed your hair yet today. Get in on that love. Be in the picture. Your kids will thank you. I promise.

Because those long days, but short years? They make up your life.

How to book

The best and easiest way to book is to jump on the phone. I know, phones are so 1990s, but I promise I’m easy to talk to and it’s not scary. I want to ensure that I can meet your needs and fulfill all your expectations, and I’ve found that a quick phone call is a great way to start building that rapport. I’ve made this super easy by providing my scheduler link right here.

Once we settle on a date, I’ll send along a proposal which lays everything out and includes the contract and session fee invoice. You must sign the contract and pay your session fee in order to secure the date on my calendar.

Once you’re booked, keep an eye on your inbox for my prep guide and a questionnaire so you and I can both be fully prepared for your session.

SPECIALS

REFERRAL PROGRAM

Refer me to others and it’s a win-win.

My small business runs on referrals and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it!

For each referral who books a session, I’ll gift you both a $100 coupon good towards my online store as a thank you for booking and referring me to others. Referrals must get on my books within 1 month of your session, and they must schedule their session within 1 year.

Session Bundles

SOMETIMES IT’S GREAT TO HAVE MORE THAN ONE SESSION TO DOCUMENT YOUR YEAR!

Scheduling more than one session is great for maternity and baby’s first year, seniors, or any other time where you know there’s a lot going on for which you’d love photos and/or video.

Whatever your reason, if you book me for more than one session within a single calendar year, I’m happy to offer a $100 coupon good towards my online store for all subsequent sessions.

FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY

FAQs

Think of me, during your documentary day-in-the-life family session, like a friend with a camera. I’ll hang out with you and your kids and get to know you all during the session, but I won’t be directing or posing anyone. I will look at your space and the light and always be thinking about how to best capture your daily life, but generally, I’ll be documenting whatever is happening.

I might be up close and personal to capture emotions & connections, or I might be stepped back to layer in the whole scene. These sessions might be entirely at-home, but if you typically run the kids to soccer practice or to the grocery, I’ll be going with you! If there are some things you typically do in a day, let’s discuss scheduling those in so that I can document these moments for you. If you choose to add-on video, these can be amazing to capture the flow of your day and especially to capture your kids voices as they interact.

Look, I have a whole wardrobe of pandemic-era yoga pants that I love and if that’s what you hang out in most days, I’m good with that – I want to document these days of family life as genuinely as possible. If it is something that you are self-conscious about, then pull together a simple outfit that you will be comfortable and confident wearing (my favorite = jeans and a plain t-shirt or sweater).

Comfort and confidence is key!I love capturing kids wearing their favorite outfits that allow them to do their thing – whether that’s baking muffins in their pajamas, taking a trip to fairyland in a tutu, or playing in the dirt.

If you are planning one of my shorter lifestyle sessions, you might consider dressing up in coordinating outfits, and I’ll send you my getting ready guide once you’re booked!

Life happens at all times of the day and night, and I’m here for it! Before your session, we’ll talk about some of the activities that your family likes to do together. The answer to this might determine when we schedule your session. We can also take into account nap schedules for littles. I’m happy to work with your to figure out the best timing for your session.

The session fee includes my time and expertise while planning, composing, and editing your photos and/or video. Also included are my getting ready guide, a planning questionnaire and phone consultation, local permits, if needed for Boulder or RMNP, and any licensed music for videos. Any artwork and digital images are purchased separately via the Photo Collections after your session.

Within a couple of weeks of your session, I’ll send you a slideshow with all of your fully-edited still images. Once opened, you’ll have 24 hours to view your slideshow before deciding on which Photo Collection to purchase. This gives you the flexibility to choose only your favorites, or the whole shebang, within the budget that fits for your family.

Each collection includes a number of digital images and a print credit (see my pricing page for all the details). Once you purchase your Photo Collection, you’ll have a full month to download your chosen images and use your print credit to shop in my online store. If you need any help designing an album or your wall display, I’m your gal!

If you chose to include a video in your session (available for documentary and legacy sessions), your video will be delivered a bit later than your still images, as these take a bit longer to edit.

testimonials

we are so grateful that Natasha was able to illuminate the silly and loving nature of our family.

In our photos, we love the rich colors and expressions that Natasha was able to capture.

she was able to capture little things.

Our little one accidentally had tissue paper stuck to her bottom. This sweet tiny moment was included in the film. While others might not notice it, our family will remember it forever with a smile.

Because your life is a story worth telling.
